Someone’s organised leaving drinks for the prime minister, scheduled to take place after the big Brexit meaningful vote.

It is hard to see how Theresa May will be able to win a vote in Commons on her Brexit deal.

With the paraliamentary arithmetic against her, the expected level of defeat would damage what remains of her credbility and her ability to govern.

The European Research Group has warned that they would then expect the Conservatives to have handed in 48 letters to the chair of the 1922 committee to call a vote of no confidence. The opposition meanwhile are plotting for a general election.

On Facebook someone has now organised a “leaving drinks” event for the prime minister at her country home of Chequers on the day of the Brexit vote.

It’s been organised by the Facebook page ‘Thursday Night’s Alright For Voting’ which specialises in political memes.

So far 8,000 people have expressed an interest in attending the leaving drinks with more “attendees” expected in the coming days.
