Change UK candidate Rachel Johnson had the perfect retort for Piers Morgan when he once again disputed the premise of a People's Vote.

Johnson, a TNE columnist, said that her party had been formed because both of the main parties on Brexit were “in hock to their ideological extreme ways.”

But before the anti-Brexit campaigner could even finish her opening statement, the outspoken Good Morning Britain presenter tried to offer his own well-known perspective on Brexit and a fresh vote.

“Let me finish the sentence,” snapped back Johnson as Morgan tried to interrupt.

“You want the direction of travel changed to the one you voted for,” he continued.

Johnson continued to try to explain her position: “We do want that. We want to have a People's Vote.”

But Piers Morgan continued to resist claiming “we've had a People's Vote!”

An undeterred Rachel Johnson had the perfect retort for the outspoken Brexiteer.

“The last time I looked Piers, you were Remain, you've changed to Leave.”

Morgan insisted that “everyone can change their minds” in response.

It led to his co-presenter Susanna Reid backing Johnson, as she told her colleague: “You said on this programme, you voted Remain but if there was another referendum, you would vote Leave.”

Morgan was unusually left on the back foot on the subject of Brexit.

He continued: “I said specifically, if there was another referendum that overrode the result of the first one without that one being implemented, as a protest vote, I would vote Leave.

“Purely to protect democracy, which I think is more important frankly then you getting the result you want.”

Johnson continued to pile the pressure on flip-flopper Morgan.

Referencing the former Brexit secretary David Davis, she asked: “Who said if democracy ceases to change its mind, it ceases to be a democracy?

“You're saying that we cannot move on from something that happened three years ago that has paralysed both the main parties who are both in hock to the sectarian ways.”
