The polls are all over the place - but clear on one thing - this is no Team Theresa walkover.

Her performance this week has been shocking. She's made an absolute mockery of the absurd Strong And Stable mantra they've all been bleating and there's more than a hint of alarm in her eyes when the Press start asking her questions.

Rightly so.

She has demonstrated a profound lack of substance - her credibility as the strongwoman who will take Europe on head to head is in tatters.

Whatever happens next Thursday, she is much diminished.

This has been the weirdest election in my lifetime and I cannot wait to see what Britain makes of it all on Thursday. I suspect there will be shock, one way or another.

And if you are still in any doubt about how - or even if - to vote, you’ll find a superb seat-by-seat tactical voting guide in this week’s paper.

One important thing to note: Since the vote is on Thursday, we are delaying the publication of next week’s The New European for 24 hours - we will be on sale on Saturday.

Thanks as ever for your continued support. As Churchill said; This isn’t the end. It’s not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

Have a great weekend!

Matt
