You had one job! Brexit protesters plaster Parliament Square with upside down flags

Brexit supporters have discovered they can take their own flags to Parliament Square, getting up especially early to place their union flags in the place EU flags usually appear.

But it has been noted that the Brexiteers had accidentally placed a number of the flags upside down.

An upside down Union Jack is often considered a coded distress signal.

The plan was coordinated by Brexiteer David Ireland and three others, who descended on Parliament Square early to place numerous flags outside the House of Commons before pro-EU campaigners arrived.

They arrived at around 6am armed with the custom-made flags to find no EU ones there and swiftly moved to set up all 34 around the television cameras.

The Remain campaigners arrived at 7.30am, and began placing their EU flags around the Union flags but noted in a hurry the rival campaigners had placed a number upside down.

The Brexiteers admitted that this would be a one-off event due to work commitments.
