Some 200 pieces of ‘clean’ graffiti have appeared across four UK cities with a simple message for young people.

Campaigners from Vote For Your Future wrote in stark white block letters: “Vote in the EU elections 23 May” in 50 locations each around the streets of Glasgow, Manchester, Sheffield and Cardiff.

The ‘clean’ graffiti is designed to fade within four to five weeks, say the campaigners.

The project comes after efforts by the non-partisan group to promote youth voter registration via social media and dating apps.

Lara Spirit, a spokesperson for Vote For Your Future, said: “Young people and students know that this is the most important European elections for a generation – potentially ever.

“We’re proud that Vote For Your Future have already played a key part in getting tens of thousands more young people to register to vote.

“Every election is determined by the people who show up.

“The goal now – no matter how young people plan to vote – is to ensure they turn out on May 23.”
