Julia Hartley-Brewer asks for the advice of experts and it all goes wrong

The radio presenter is well-known for flippantly disagreeing with those that warn against Brexit as she tours television and radio studios on a daily basis.

So the reaction her plea for help gained when tweeted is likely to be even sweeter for those who have been subjected to her pro-Brexit ramblings.

Hartley-Brewer tweeted: ‘Advice please!! Just booked a hotel through @Agoda & got a website msg & email from their fraud dept requiring scanned copies of my payment card & passport/ID to confirm.’

She added: ‘It *looks* legit but surely this is a fraud? No one answering their customer line. Any thoughts?’

The replies quickly poured in as Remainers went to town.

‘Just do it and with enough belief that it’ll turn out fine’ responded one.

‘Agoda means Agoda and we’re going to make a success of it’ tweeted back another.

FanaticRealist said: ‘A reservation is a reservation. Just because you’re now being told to comply with some conditions of which you were unaware prior to the booking doesn’t give you the right to query or cancel the transaction. That’d be stupid.’

Peter Simms replied: ‘You’ve taken the decision, Julia. You have to stick with it.’

Another said: ‘You decided to stay in the hotel, now you must go ahead with it, come what may. Changing of mind is not allowed in this country.’

Jon, told the TalkRadio host he was an ‘expert’ in electronic fraud investigations, but added ‘you don’t need my help’.

Parroting the views of leading Brexiters another told Hartley-Brewer to ‘stop talking down Agoda!’, adding ‘this scam will all be all right if you just get behind it!’
