Leave Means Leave have announced they will hold a march from Sunderland to London in support of Brexit, but rather than hold it at once will instead run the event over a two week period.

The ‘March To Leave’ will campaign under the slogan ‘Brexit Betrayal’ and will be led by arch Brexiteer Nigel Farage, Leave Means Leave founder Richard Tice and chairman John Longworth.

While the Brexiteer group have previously mocked numbers that turned out in London against Brexit, Farage’s group have not been prepared to hold one large march in London, instead opting to hold smaller marches at each leg of the route, finishing with a rally on March 29th in Parliament Square.

The march will run through a series of Brexit towns including Hartlepool, Pontefract, Doncaster and Wellingborough.

Farage made the announcement, telling the media: ‘The Westminster elite are in the process of betraying the British people over Brexit. All of us who want Britain to be a great country once again accept that we must be prepared to stand up for what we believe in and fight for our independence.’

Leave Means Leave founder and vice-chairman Richard Tice said: ‘Over 17 million people voted Leave in the EU referendum, many for the first time, in the greatest democratic exercise in the history of our nation. Failing to deliver a true Brexit will permanently damage the British people’s faith in democracy. The mood of the country is increasingly ‘Let’s go WTO – let’s save £39bn’.’

The People’s Vote campaign is holding an anti-Brexit march in London on Saturday 23rd March under the banner of ‘Put It To The People’.

More than 700,000 people attended the last event with organisers hoping the latest will top those numbers.

Commenting on Farage’s march proposal, Best for Britain supporter Layla Moran MP said: ‘This is another ludicrous idea from Britain’s best-known charlatan.

‘A fourteen-day march sounds rough, especially one led by Nigel Farage. He’ll march his troops to the top of the hill where he’ll ask them to dive off the no deal cliff edge.’
