Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage has said that the name of his party’s £100,000 donor is ‘irrelevant’. and would not be named until after the EU elections.
Speaking on Sky News’ Sophy Ridge politics show, Farage started out sarcastically in response to Ridge’s line of questioning.
‘Oh yes, I’m really going to tell you his name,’ he said.
‘Well why not?’ Ridge shot back. ‘This is the new transparent politics.’
‘I will declare it, at the end of July,’ said Farage.

‘So why don’t you just tell me then?’ said Ridge.
‘I don’t see why, why one individual – I tell you what, if everybody else will, that’s fine,’ stammered Farage.
The reason for the secrecy, he added, was because the press will ‘hound’ the donor until the elections.
‘Anyway, it’s irrelevant, it’s a small donation of £100,000,’ he said, pointing out that the party has raised ‘nearly £2 million’ in £25 donations.
‘Doesn’t it deserve some scrutiny?’ asked Ridge.
‘You’ll get it all in good time,’ said Farage.
The matter of its donors is not the only Brexit Party issue under wraps, as Farage has also said he won’t even publish a manifesto until after the elections.

He said he had given 26 years to the party but feels that ‘it’s done’.
He also said that a Brexit deal between Labour and the Conservatives could be a ‘coalition of politicians against the people’.
He called the prospect of a deal between the two parties a ‘final betrayal’.
