Nigel Farage says he will stand again to be MEP

Farage said he would stand again to be an MEP if elections are ran in May 2019.

He said that he believed it was ‘likely’ Article 50 that would ‘effectively overturn’ Brexit, which would lead to a fresh set of European elections.

He told Sky News: ‘To me, the most likely outcome of all of this is an extension of Article 50.’

Farage, who quit UKIP late last year, said that the ticket he would stand on was a ‘work in progress’.

He said: ‘There are lots of parties out there that one could pick up and use right now. I’m working on it.’

The face of the Leave.EU campaign also believes a second referendum is now possible.

He told the broadcaster: ‘There could be another referendum.

‘The Remain side is well-funded, well-organised. They are getting ready for another referendum. It would negligent of the eurosceptics not to do so.’

Analysis of the MEP’s voting records showed that Farage only turned up to 40.7% of all possible roll-call votes between July 2014 and May 2016.
