Piers Morgan schooled by Twitter user for saying Britain voted for no-deal Brexit

The former Daily Mirror editor and Good Morning Britain presenter posted on Twitter: ‘No deal is actually Brexit.

‘People voted to leave the EU, not to stay in bits of it.’

But he was quickly shut down by the Twitter account Steve Analyst who is known on the social media site for his arguments against leaving the EU.

In a thread that consists of 38 tweets, Analyst used a host of evidence including government documents, campaign leaflets and helpful videos quoting politicians.

He also shows voting statistics that show the UK did not vote Leave and a no-deal Brexit was a worst case scenario.

Analyst’s argument shows how the voters were sold the idea that once Britain had voted to leave then the negotiations would be in the country’s favour and it would be able to create its own free trade deal better than the current deal with the EU.

The tweets include videos of some of the most prominent Brexiteers including Jacob Rees-Mogg, Nigel Farage, Michael Gove and Boris Johnson before the Brexit vote.

The thread has gained support from Remain supporters. One said: ‘It will take a lifetime for Piers Morgan to forget this.’

Another commented: ‘This is such an informative thread. No matter which side of the divide you’re on, it makes interesting reading.’

While another said: ‘The best thread about Brexit ever. Exposing the con artists who would have us believe no deal is what people voted for.’

This critic said the thread gave a lot of evidence: ‘Follow the thread for a review of what was said and written leading up to the referendum.

‘Lots of evidence that at no stage was leaving without a deal a proposed outcome.’
