A children’s television programme has managed to do a better job of analysing Brexit than any of the leading Brexiteers.

This clip was broadcasted during the children’s programme News2Day on Irish channel RTE and has gone viral on social media for doing a better job of explaining Brexit than the likes of Farage, Rees-Mogg, and Johnson.

In the 2 minute clip the station’s political correspondent Paul Cunningham explains in a simple way that children can understand the pros and cons of the Irish backstop, May’s Chequers plan and the Canada-style trade deal put forward by Brexiteers.

LBC’s James O’Brien said that the clip was probably still complicated for Nadine Dorries, who claimed that the Irish border did not exist.

He told listeners: ‘Children’s TV in Ireland providing a Brexit explainer that effortlessly exposes the basic ignorance underpinning almost every interview conducted with the likes of Rees Mogg, Davis & Johnson.

‘It’s incredibly simple but, in fairness, probably a bit too complicated for Dorries.’

O’Brien previously pulled apart the Brexiteers’ plans for the Irish border in just two minutes, labelling the European Research Group members who presented the plan ‘charlatans, snakeoil salesman’ and ‘pantomine toffs’.
