Former chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne is to become a full-time banker.
Osborne will step down from his roles as editor-in-chief of the Evening Standard newspaper and senior adviser at investment firm Blackrock at the end of March to join financial consultants Robey Warshaw.
Robey Warshaw, founded in 2013, said the former Tory MP would bring “differentiated experience and expertise” in his role as partner and “significantly enhance the advice we give to clients”.
Osborne said he was “proud” to be joining the company, which he described as “the best of the best”.

Osborne served as a Member of Parliament from 2001 to 2017, and as chancellor from 2010 until 2016.
From 2017 he was editor of the Evening Standard before becoming editor-in-chief in 2020 and a senior advisor to the Blackrock Investment Institute.
