Having made sure he got himself photographed on his “mercy mission” to Ukraine, David Cameron’s attempt to rehabilitate himself in the eyes of the British public continues apace.

In an absurdly hagiographical newspaper interview over the weekend – in which he’d clearly stipulated that 99.9% of it had to be about his Alzheimer’s campaigning – he allowed a single question about his part in the Greensill lobbying scandal. “Obviously last year was difficult,” he replied, as if talking about an illness he had bravely borne. “I need to get over that.”

Meanwhile, the reviled former prime minister is trying to get a commission for an “Alzheimer’s focused” TV documentary, but there have so far been no takers.
