Has Lord Rothermere got his priorities straight?

Only recently The Daily Mail aggressively pushed for Liz Truss as leader one day and then delighted in her downfall the next

Lord Rothermere told a group of his minions last month that his priorities in life were – in order – his MailOnline website, his Mail app and then his print editions. This order of priorities may explain how dysfunctional the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday have become, not least in terms of aggressively pushing Liz Truss for leader one day and then delighting in her downfall the next.

The Mail on Sunday over the weekend was more batshit crazy than ever. Its columnist Dan Hodges declaring on one page: “gone are the days of boosterism and absurd hyperbole – at last, we’re being treated like adults.” Just a few pages away, there was a headline above a piece by Rishi Sunak that declared: “We face huge challenges, but the spirit of our great nation will help carry us towards a new age of optimism…”
