As if Rishi Sunak professing to be a fan of Vanilla Ice and Boris Johnson attempting to dance to Sweet Caroline wasn’t bad enough, now Nadhim Zahawi appears to have discovered popular culture, too.

The multi-millionaire chancellor – the founder of YouGov is worth up to £100m – has just owned up to accepting £3,522 worth of freebies indulging his new passion. He accepted three VIP tickets with hospitality in July from Sony Music Entertainment to attend Adele’s homecoming concert in Hyde Park, four tickets to see Billie Eilish in June and six tickets to attend Capital’s Summertime Ball. What a hip old daddy-o he is.
